The dinner menu was also really good - I had all of the fish options on the menu by the end of my stay and was not at all disappointed. The soup was also very tastyGreat location. Train station is 5 minutes' walk from the hotel, and the bus stop directly outside both connect to city centre
  : The hotel is very dated. The furniture, carpets, and decor is very old and lets the hotel down a bit, which is a shame. Needs redecorating. Bit of a musty smell in the corridors, presumably from the leaks (there were bowls left out to catch the leaks from the ceilings)

  : The room was ok. It did the job for what we needed. Yes, it was a little dated, and the bathroom was quite small (although it had a huge shower, but not much power), but it was cheap and cheerful for what we needed. The room provided tea and coffee, and you could go to reception for more if you required it. It had plenty of storage space and a dressing table to get ready at. The hotel was very quiet at night, which was nice. I can't comment on the bar/restaurant as we didn't use them.The location was perfect for us. A 5 min walk to the train station and then about 7 minutes into the city. We stayed here to explore Edinburgh, and it didn't disappoint. There was free parking at the hotel, which is always a bonus when staying in a city, and the hotel also provided free umbrellas to use, which came in very handy for us!
  : I found the bed quite hard and woke up a few times in the night as I wasn't comfortable. However, this is just a personal choice, and my partner found it absolutely fine.

  : The facilities. Had a lovely swim in the indoor swimming pool. Great breakfast. Dated but big room. Parking, plus kettle and iron in the room.
