Traveller Type: young couple
: Visitors be warned: this place is afflicted by BED BUGS (In Dutch: BEDWANTSEN, in French: PUNAISES de LIT). They are all over the place, in your mattrass and under your bed, and you risk to be stung by BED BUGS while you sleep. (SEE THE PICTURE). You also risk to take them (or their eggs) with you in your luggage, and spread this persistent plague. We were bitten several times, resulting in several red, itchy bumps. Then we discovered them between our sheets. Being shocked, we alarmed the owner the next morning. He promised us to return the money, several times, but he didn't. He explained that he knew about the plague and had done some actions to stop it, but of course he should have closed the pension until the plague was expelled. IT'S A SHAME and very IRRESPONSIBLE. So is Booking.com: we called and wrote them to warn them about this guest house, but they did not see the relevance of stopping the contract with the owner and advertising his place. So they actively support the spread of this plague. Booking.com has no policy in case the hotels linked to them have such plagues. Profit above all, it seems, at the expense of people suffering a BED BUGS plague! We find this very irresponsible and unacceptable.
