  : Tired looking. Dusty. Not very clean in the bathroom. Stopped serving breakfast at 9:15 on a Saturday, which seems very early. We went across the road to the Rowntree Lodge who had a great breakfast selection & the hotel looked 100% better, so we’ll be booking there next time. Definitely won’t be staying at the Southlands hotel again.

  : The room had mould and damp, stains on carpet. We booked two rooms and both were in the same condition.

  : The double bed. I know i could have upgraded but i think in this day and age a king sized bed should come as standard.

  : Easy to find, car park small but plenty of room when I arrived at 4pm, the lady on reception brown hair and glasses was lovely and very helpful. Bar staff friendly, nice little garden to sit and have a drink, 5 minutes walk to the spa cliff lift. Breakfast was very nice worth the extra tenner, fruit, yogurt, pastries, full English, tea, coffee, juice. Bed was comfy. You could hear people in other rooms but not too much and is to be expected in a hotel. Fan in the room was an extra bonus as it was a very hot day and night. All staff I spoke with were very nice and helpful. I travelled on my own and didn't feel uncomfortable dining alone or having a pint on my own, other guests friendly and chatty and some had dogs which made me smile. All in all an excellent stay and good value for money, I'd definitely recommend and plan on staying here next time I'm travelling this way ☺
