  : The host was efficient, the waitresses were friendly, all areas were exceptionally clean and breakfast was fresh, well cooked with generous portions and a good choice of dish.
  : From the advertising & price, we were looking forward to a luxury boutique hotel with views of the sea. On arrival we were presented with on-street parking & an average North Bay guesthouse head to toe in scaffolding. The host sat us down & went through the rules including that room servicing & the advertised option of breakfast delivered to bedrooms weren’t available & that bar hours would be limited due to the host going out. Guests could collect their toilet rolls/sachets of coffee/tea from the landings/bar. We made our own way to our ‘king room with partial sea view’ room, as celebrated in the advertising. The room was compact, had a full view of a car park & the town with a sliver of sea view between buildings. The wallpaper was sparkly & the shower room toiletries appeared pound shop rather than boutique. When I queried the sea view, the host curtly said ‘you booked a side sea view’ & walked off. An untrained waitress forgot the toast & had to check if we were allowed my choice at breakfast. Another guest asked for an extension to his parking permit for the morning of check out to walk around the bay, as offered on arrival; he was told the hotel was short of permits & there was free parking in town.

  : the bedroom was a nice size and colour co-coordinated. nice linen and towels.
  : it was to hot in the night even with radiator turned off. biggest disappointment was scaffolding on the front of the property. we had paid for a sea view and could only see it with bars across the window.
