Disappointing

  : I can't fault the staff or the food. The staff were welcoming and accomodating and breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Those aspects I really enjoyed.The location is also really close to the Lighthouse and a Tesco Extra.WiFi also worked fine.The heavy duvet was nice
  : There were a lot of things about the room I didn't like. There was a loose headboard on the bed which kept waking me up if I moved in my sleep as it would slam the wall. The inside of the shower had some ingrained black flecks and there were chips that made me trepidatious to get in.The kettle was wired in meaning you needed to unplug it to fill it, the plug was inconveniently placed. The wire management was also a little frenetic and wild. The sink of the bathroom was very shallow so when I first turned on the water it bounced out and soaked me immediately. The water itself tastes wrong. Fortunately there was a water dispenser near the breakfast area but I couldn't even make tea with the water without it tasting very soapy.Someone (some sort of Internet related person) loudly talked about SSIDs for ages seemingly outside my door one morning and I was low key flabbergasted at the length they were at it. The light from the hallways was really harsh, I had to use towels to block the bottom of the door to try and keep it out but it disturbed my sleep greatly since the bed faced the door.Finally, throughout the booking, check in, and check out process the hotel over communicated with me severely. There was some sort of link they wanted me to go through that didn't seem to apply to booking.com services and I honestly nearly cancelled when after emails (to both my addresses), and DMs that I also got a WhatsApp message. I booked this room to be closer to my exam so you can imagine how extra annoying it was to receive so much communication on the run up to my stay.

  : Great buffet breakfast and nice mostly clean room. I was able to leave my bag for a couple of hours in the morning after checking out. Friendly staff.
  : Their booking system was absolutly relentless with emails and notifications wanting check in info (all availble through my booking.com booking so totally unnesecary) and then wanted check out info and for me to review before I'd even spent the night there. It also kept asking for me to pay online even though I paid already. I didn't know my room would be on the top floor so had to lug my bag up multiple flights of stairs pregnant. There was a damp patch on the ceiling of my room which shed flakes of paint all over the desk so I couldn't leave anything on it. The WiFi didn't work for the whole night, but did in the morning, not sure if it struggled to reach the top of the building. Finally, the blinds didn't cut much light out so I was woken up in the early hours by light, thankfully I had an eye mask but not everyone will have that. None of these things were so bad I'd say don't stay here, but collectively they were annoying enough I was glad I was only there one night.

  : No free parking as described and from days prior to stay, I was bombarded constantly with texts and emails telling me to check in online and wanting to know what time I was arriving. I didnt know what time and didnt want to be under pressure but felt completely harassed by it all. I even received a message before I even got there asking me to check out online and hoped I had a nice stay. I hadnt even checked in at that point. Really put me off. I book through booking.com regular and have never received any of that before.
