  : Would definitely not call this a luxury resort and would rate the stay a zero if we could but feel it is imperative others are made aware of the unhygienic conditions of our stay.To clarify, on the first night of our stay at around 12am we both broke out in hives and an itchy rash. When inspecting the bed we found what can only be described as bed bugs , to which when we ran our hands over them, they squashed into little blood spots on the bed covers. (I have pictures which were shown to the hotel and booking.com).We informed the lady working at the reception desk who came and saw the situation and switched our room. She did state that dogs are able to stay in the rooms and have done recently so said it could be a flea?- which was just unacceptable for a luxury retreat.We had to repack all of our belongings at 12am and move them into the other room which was a massive inconvenience. Furthermore, the rashes persisted into the night so we were deeply uncomfortable and as a consequence of the events found it really difficult to sleep even in the new room due to being itchy and greatly anxious that something was in the bed.The following morning, we chose not to discuss the events in light of trying our best to somewhat enjoy the rest of our stay and assumed this would be discussed on checkout. However to my surprise when checking out this was not mentioned at all, when I bought this up there was surprise and the staff said that we had been upgraded rooms. I informed her firstly we were never made aware of the room upgrade as at the midnight we were switched we were just told our room could be changed and secondly this is not an acceptable resolution.Simply, our entire first night of the stay was ruined by what can only be described as an unhygienic oversight from the hotel.When we tried to contact the hotel and booking.com making them aware of this- booking.

  : The location is stunning! Staff made us feel very much at home. A lovely calm ambiance. Its a beautiful place to sit around and take in the views or bathe in the infinity pool. Plenty of pointers to the buildings past history through the sympathetic decor.
  : The parking can be tricky!The piped pop music on the terrace is an unnecessary interruption to the natural beauty of the setting.

  : Beautiful location with gorgeous views and terraces. We ate at the restaurant one night and the setting and food was fabulous.
  : The standard room we had was very tired and very small with one small window with no view. The room was a surprise to us in a hotel that is promoted as a luxury retreat and for the price we paid it was incredibly disappointing. I think we were maybe unlucky as I understood after talking to a staff member that Room 1 which we stayed in was the worst room in the hotelwe had booked the room months previously, so not last minute.The retreat has subcontracted the catering to an outside restaurant, so it is self service round the pool, just for cold drinks left in a cool box behind a bar away from the pool. This also means if you want a coffee or drink, or snack outside of meal times you need to go out as there is no onsite cafe. The road to the property is very rough with tight corners so best to take a 4 wheel drive!

  : Beautiful location and stunning views. The gardens are quite something to walk around and relax in. The pool and sun-beds are fantastic (offering more private sun-beds as well as poolside) and there is a also a well stocked outdoor honesty bar. The a la carte lunch we had was delicious and one of the best meals we had during our stay. The staff are also very helpful.
  : The wasps arent managed well and meant we had to dine inside on one occasion. There are also no casual menu options, not ideal when you fancy a lighter lunch or snack. No shuttle service available to the town or port like a nearby rural hotel did offer, meaning expensive taxis given remote hillside location. Driving up to the hotel and parking is tricky and not for averagely skilled drivers. The lowest priced room we had was small, but still comfortable.

  : Stunning views with beautiful decor throughout, tranquil vibe and plenty of secluded spaces throughout the property so all guests had space to enjoy it. The property had loads of character and charm. The food at the on site restaurant and drinks were excellent. We were pleasantly surprise by the walking paths through olive groves and vines directly accessible from the property and enjoyed it as a good cycling base.
  : As mentioned it is a bit tricky to drive up the driveway so ensure you have a rental car with a good engine and be extra careful driving at night. However, the views are worth the drive and I'm glad the owners have preserved the ancient olive grove terraces instead of building a new road
