  : Easy check in. Great location, not too far from the centre and the attractions. Friendly staff, lots of places to sit in different surroundings, lovely gardens. Nice relaxing lounge/bar area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
  : I think the parking should be free for residents.

  : The Outside and communal areas were very nice. Breakfast was good
  : The rooms we booked were described as Comfy and Cosy which basically meant very little window.Our room had a tiny tucked away window which didn’t open and a skylight with no blind which meant daylight at 5am. Also a buzzing motor noise in the roof at 1-2 minute intervals all night meant sleep was impossible, air con kept turning itself off too on warmest night of the year. Think we had worst room in hotel. They did give a discount as we had bad experience. Parking is charged.

  : The hotel itself is very beautiful and the rooms are lovely and comfortable. The location is also very good. Nice area to sit outside with a drink.
  : Our first night was disrupted by people coming back to the hotel late and making a lot of noise, shouting and banging. The walls are thin! When we checked in the lady at reception didn’t tell us anything about the hotel or breakfast as in where to go etc this was a little disappointing.

  : Great location, lovely outside seating areas, we were in a very large and clean room.
  : The lovely picture of the hotel used in the marketing is a bit deceptive as it isn’t what you see when you arrive by car and that building doesn’t translate to the rest of the hotel, which is a shame it means that immediately you feel a bit disappointed as your expectations are not met.Full Northern breakfast was decent but the avocado on toast was horrible. Dinner promised a lot (Yorkshire tapas) but was a real disappointment, sadly. Main thing we didn’t like was the loud repetitive noise of an extractor fan (on a wall near the gym) in our room, which you couldn’t ignore.

  : We were shown to a room that stank horribly of mildew. We explained that we couldn't possibly sleep in it as the stench was overpowering. We were eventually given a much smaller room (and we had to drag our luggage much further) which also had a tiny bath compared to the more spacious one of the room we had actually booked. But the small room smelled less bad so we accepted it as sleeping was our priority.The next day when we checked out we were charged the same amount as for the much larger, nicer room that we had originally booked (nicer in terms of beds, size and decor, but uninhabitable because of the mildew). We protested this, and were told to wait in the lobby, which we did. Eventually, the manager emerged from his office and walked past us like the lord of the manor without so much as a glance, nose in the air, and allowed the clerk to take off a small percentage of the bill. Considering the inconvenience and the major differences between the rooms in size and quality, the stay should have been gratis or at least discounted by 50 percent, and someone should have had the grace to apologize rather than make us wait 20+ minutes to be "granted" a small discount (I don't recall now whether it was 10 or perhaps 15%). Bad rooms, bad attitude -- except for the well-intentioned young lady who checked us in and tried her best to find us an alternate room. She was a new employee at the time, I believe.
