  : Tiny room. Overall dampness and lack of ventilation. Stained carpet. Rusted shower. Mould in the toilet. Loose plumbing fittings. No sound insulation with room above.

  : Room No 8 was a pokey hole. Towel rail electrical connections uncovered. Toilet& wash hand basin small & cramped. Shower did not work ( No shower facility for 2 days)

  : The pub was superb and I had a couple of cold beers with my steak which was good.
  : I would have thought the ensuite bath room would have been in the bedroom and not across the hallway which was all so the main entrance to the accommodation block, apart from the sticky badly stained carpets the bedroom was just OK the poorly decorated bathroom with mouldy walls and damp floors was totally unacceptable and if I was staying longer than one night I would have asked for my money back and found some where else.

  : The keys were just handed over to all four rooms
  : The rooms were shocking, we hired 4 double rooms and all were dirty, One room had exposed wires, one had a shower door that would not close, a tap on the sink where the whole tap turns around, you could not use the sink as it had no plug just a guard over the plug hole All four rooms smelt damp and all four rooms were dirty. We even had the pleasure of previous occupants toe nails on the floor. Check out was - leave your key in the door and leave - no one to speak to.

  : First night arrived there was no heating in the rooms & no hot water for the shower, Not fixed until my 2nd night of my stay. With no discount offered on my stay , the following 2 nights were fine food very good

  : The room was horrendous. The bed was so low almost on the floor . It had paint peeling off in bathroom . The decor was from the 80's badly hung curtains . Looked really cheap and horrible there was a tiny TV on the wall that was practically an antique . No netflix nothing to watch .

  : The best thing about this property is its location - very close to the A3, but also very quiet. When I checked in, the staff member at the bar [the Manager] was uncertain whether Booking.com had already taken the money and so he suggested that I check this myself and then report to him later [which I did]. It was good to be trusted in this way.
  : I've stayed here before but now find the disadvantages far outweigh the convenient location. Where to start? My room was on the 1st floor, up a very narrow staircase - dangerous. The door to the accommodation is left open all night, which I found unnerving from a security point of view. The 'en suite' actually consists of a shower in one cupboard and a loo and tiny washbasin in another cupboard. There was NO water - let alone hot water - coming out of the hot tap of the washbasin. I went back to the bar and told them, but there was still no water - hot or otherwise - the next day. On the 3rd night of my stay, there was a trickle of not-very-hot-water. The first day my room wasn't serviced - when I pointed this out, I was told that this was because I was still in my room [early in the morning]. The next day I was careful to leave early so that my room could be 'serviced'. My bed was made (roughly) and that was about it! A huge disadvantage is they no longer serve breakfast which [as an extra] was always available. If you want breakfast, you are directed to the nearby golf club, but as this does not open until 10.00am it's not really practical. The Squirrel really need to be looking at trying to attract staff if that is the problem. I did not have dinner there - it is quite pricey for an ordinary pub AND they add a service charge. There's been a change in ownership since I first stayed here - the staff are now Albanian, which I think might be part of the problem - they have no real understanding of hospitality traditions. I see some other reviewers have mentioned 'unfriendliness' - I saw several staff members and none of them so much as cracked a smile, let alone said 'Hello' etc. This Inn is quite expensive - I assume this is because hotels in nearby Godalming can charge high prices, but this is not comparing 'like for like'.
