  : The staff are friendly and the dining room and bar has a lively but relaxed atmosphere.
  : We stayed in room 1. The toilet was not cleaned properly. The wall between room 1 and room 2 is super thin and the tv noise from room 2 kept us awake until 2 am. At checkout I reported the problem to be informed that the hotel was aware of the problem and that they needed to put notices in both rooms :( I then completed an online survey with the hotel and reported my issues to be told in response that as ' NOT MANY' guests had complained about the noise they would fix the problem when they next did a refurb. In my view if you receive more than one complaint about the same problem you should act immediately.

  : Lovely pub with rooms in a quiet area that offers good value for money, thanks to the genius discount. We arrived super late unfortunately, which was unplanned but the staff were accommodating and helpful to leave us the key with a self check in option, giving us clear explanations on how to access it.
  : The bathroom decor style is rather outdated and could be refreshed for a more modern look and feel. The shower cubicle ie far too small and there is room in the bathroom to make this bigger. The water pressure is also poor - so keep this in mind, though you get a great hot shower!

  : We arrived on a really hot day and it was lovely to see that they had a beer garden where we were able to have a nice cool drink in the sun. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. We went for a walk before dinner and there was a map with a route for you to follow over open countryside. We ate in the restaurant/ bar. The food was really tasty. Breakfast was good in the morning , we had a cooked breakfast which was large.
  : The rooms were all upstairs with no lift so may need to take this into account when booking. It didn't bother us as we are both able bodied.

  : The staff are very welcoming. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable.
  : We could have done with an extra pillow each, but the bag in the wardrobe was empty. We still slept like logs though!!

  : Lovely location close to both Bolton and Bury. Staff is lovely and always happy to help. The room had all the essential for one night, including a fan for warm nights and extra pillows. We have been here before and will come back when visiting the area
