  : Owner's wife runs the reception desk and is fluent in at least three languages. She is very friendly, warm, and helpful. The room itself is quite large, air conditioning was wonderful and very efficient. The location is just a few blocks from the riverside, and yet it is on a very quiet street. The room had no view to speak of, but was so comfortable and affordable--how could we complain? Unfortunately the paid breakfast was not available when we were there, the kitchen was not in order. Instead we had bagged breakfast left at our door in the morning which was just OK. There is a terrace with a small pool that affords a lovely evening view. The kitchen is very cleverly designed/hidden behind some doors that look like a closet. I would stay here again without question! Great value overall.
  : The shower stall is very tiny. Tall people need to take care not to bang their head against the shelf.

  : Comfortable small apartment, very close Douro river and to many cellars, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, souvenir stores. Short walking to Cais da Ribeira through Luis I bridge. Ana was very nice and communicative.

  : The apartment was large for a studio apartment, with the bedroom somewhat separate from the sitting room and kitchen. The apartment was quiet although the building was located along a fairly busy narrow street. We liked the location very much, a bit away from Porto center. Getting to Porto was easy -- we were pretty close to the Jardim do Morro metro station, a steep but relatively easy uphill walk, and we often used the water taxi to cross the Douro. The towels provided were large and thick. The bedroom had a large closet with lots of storage capacity (but see what we didn't like...). There was a Nespresso machine in the kitchen (but see what we didn't like...).
  : When we arrived, we discovered that one of the large sliding doors of the closet in the bedroom was off the rails, broken, and not easily repairable -- working together, we removed it and leaned it against one of the walls for the duration of our stay, and asked that it not be repaired while we were there. There were no Nespresso pods, not even a few to get us started, in the kitchen when we arrived (we eventually purchased compatible pods from a small grocer nearby). The bathroom sink did not drain well. The kitchen was poorly equipped with chipped dishes and mismatched cutlery and hardly any pots or pans -- the only frypan was badly scratched with no fitting lid. About the only thing we could cook was boiled eggs. There is a lift, but it delivered us to a landing between floors, so some lugging of luggage was unavoidable (but admittably, a half flight of stairs is better than 3 full flights). There was a flat screen TV that I believe might have been capable of being "smart", but it was not connected to the wifi, and the coax cable connections were broken, so there was basically no reception.
