  : The room was very clean and staff daily was in to tidy up. We never saw staff but they did a very good job. It was a very small room but we do not require more. It had a sitting area to watch the goings on outside which was very nice and a fridge. Very well kept with a very nice bathroom/shower area. The proximity of where to go and things to do was GREAT! We were able to walk to many sites and museums without difficulty in all directions! Yes, it is an amazing spot to be in - so convenient. There was a grocery store across the street with a small coffee/pastry cafe which was appreciated and we were able to get a bottle of wine for our room. The tram stop was close by as well as many restaurants of all ethnicities within walking distance. Being on the canal was bonus and we enjoyed walking the area - it never gets old in this lovely city.
  : A couple of things. WiFi when we were in the room, which was mostly later in the evening, would repeatedly kick us off internet. That would be annoying for anybody that may have a need to conduct business. We do not fall into that category so while it was annoying it did not hinder. The stairs were a not-so-nice surprise. We are in good shape and had just completed 10 days of biking through France so stairs are not an issue for us. These stairs however are STEEPE, CURVY and NARROW. Seems to be a theme in Amsterdam but if you have heavy luggage its going to be a problem. It was also very noisy at night. Area bars cause this and we somewhat knew prior to our reservation but it exceeded what we expected and some nights we were woken out of sleep by late night bar activities. One morning around 5-6am it sounded like men arguing on the sidewalk. This was disruptive but it happens. Something to consider if you prefer not to be woken up by discord.

  : Great room, great location. It was very clean, towels were exceptional. The recommendation was on the mark.

Disappointing

  : The beds were very comfortable, the fridge was stocked with treats.
  : I confirmed the listing at 1pm to see if the room was ready because we had a lot of luggage. They messaged back and said it wasnt ready but we could drop off luggage. We arrived and messaged to leave luggage and waited over 3 hours outside of the apt to get in at 4:15 we called booking.com who called the owners who then called us. In the 3 hours waiting I called the owners twice and messaged 4 times with no answers. Also nobody went in the building so the room was clean and ready the entire time. To add insult to injury when we were leaving a new group came in at 11 to drop off their luggage and confirmed their 3pm not 4pm checkin.. super irritated hence the low rating. Other than that it was clean and comfy so my low rating is based solely on the owners communication.
