  : Not clean, underrated place and dirty kitchen. Some strange people start drinking around 7 pm and you can not use common room to work or relaxation.

  : When we first entered to Central Hostel (Riga), we were greeted by a man who spoke Russian, he was not friendly at all at first, we asked to speak to someone who can speak in English, the man called someone else, that English speaker man translated what we asked the from the first man into Russian, he looked at our passport and said "they are from Azerbaijan but why they don't know Russian" and started to act racist towards us, made us wait for 30 minutes to find a room, regardless of the prior reservation, then he said some words against us in Russian in a low voice and acted repulsively. Finally, we went to the room, the window was open and it was really cold, when we asked when it would get warm, he said soon and left. However, it didn't get warm, I went to the reception to report that it wasn't getting warm, he showed us another room which is also cold and there were separate beds, we said we are married, this bed is not suitable and we paid for double bedroom. He said something with an angry facial expression which I don't understand. So I went to the old room downstairs. We couldn't sleep at night because of the cold. I can never spend a second night in a place like this, so we left the hostel early in the morning.

  : - The room was decently sized- The singular point is for the guy at reception... when he around. He was helpful
  : Where do I begin....? I picked this hostel based on the positive reviews on Booking but my experience was vastly different.- They allow long term stays. By the looks, this has been taken up by a number of older Slavic men who are always have a presence in the common room. They shouted at my girlfriend and I when we tried to go in.- My girlfriend was the only female in the hostel (that we came across during our stay) and she felt very uncomfortable in this building.- The building seems to be an old soviet apartment building and had a weird smell- The curtains in the room which allowed a large amount of light to enter on our faces while we slept.- Barely any presence at reception. - Close-ish proximity to city centre but did not exactly feel safe- My girlfriend found various hairs down the sides of the bedI hope to return to Riga as they were in partial lockdown, but I would not stay here again.
