  : The view from the rooftop
  : The reception staff when we advised them our room fridge was not working! We were told, the hot outside temperature was affecting the fridge inside our air conditioned room, that the management did not like staff moving fridges around different rooms, that the switch was on the wrong setting and to wait 24 hours to see if it corrected itself and suddenly got cold, also that non of the fridges in all the rooms are any different - they are all the same temperature, excuses and more excuses until I told him I was not happy and had not got what was advertised - a working fridge in our room! 3 days we had to go without a working fridge! Apart from that, the bed had sharp edges that cut our legs when we walked past, the shower had no soap holder or shelf for shampoo etc. the toiletries we sparse and not replaced, there was not even instant coffee sachets or milk in the room, which would have soured anyway with a non working fridge. And the tea bags that were supplied were not replenished. We got to the property at 2pm. The door was locked and when we buzzed to have it opened, were told ‘no-one is here, try again later’! We went 500 metres down the road to a cafe, nearest open one to wait an hour, then tried again, when others had also arrived, the reception guy, read us all the rules, which were ‘only water was to be consumed in the room’ ‘no food was allowed or tolerated to be eaten or taken into the room!’ I take it, that is why the fridges don’t work!

  : Great location, lovely small hotel, comfortable and clean
  : Shower was very good, but enclosed in the bath which was quite high for a short person (me!)to navigate in and out of. Would have been nice to be able to have a drink on the balcony on an evening, but the rules don’t allow it. These are minor issues for us though.

  : Great location with lots going on literally outside the hotel's door. You could turn down any of the streets outside the door to find shopping, dining and sightseeing. We found a great place to grab lunch close by and we went there when we didn't have much time. The rooms were a bit spartan but very clean, large and well-maintained. The exposed beams in the ceilings give you a glimpse of the hotel's past. There are two rooftop verandas with fantastic views of the city and they're ideal for catching the sunrise/sunset. Breakfast is cold but they have two coffee machines that work well and a wide spread of available foods.
  : There's no eating allowed in the rooms (understandable) but also no eating allowed in the breakfast area outside of the two-hour breakfast period. That's not ideal since it can be quite hot in Florence and it's nice to be able to sit down in the air conditioned breakfast area with takeout food from nearby. Without that option it can be hard to find a place to sit with the food sold to be eaten out of your hands (think pizza, wraps, sandwiches) and so many tourists sitting in the few available places. Also you don't want to sit in the hot sun while eating so again, it would be nice to be allowed to eat in the breakfast area.

  : The view from the rooftop balcony at breakfast was incredible, beautiful views over the Duomo and city! The room was comfortable and quiet and the location of the hotel was good for all the main attractions.
  : Couldn't easily store luggage at before or after checkin and reception hours were limited.
