  : DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO STAY IN A RUNDOWN BUDGET (close to fleabag, in my opinion). The Booking.com site is confusing making it easy to book this BUDGET IBIS when the IBIS hotel that I meant to book is down the street. I thought I was booking the high end hotel when for a few bucks more I could have booked the MERCURE a far superior hotel for the money. Moreover, the day clerk stated that BOOKING.COM is at fault for not CLARIFYING the fact that these are two different hotels, IBIS and IBIS STYLE (budget) and that people ALWAYS confuse them. I wanted a refund but the hotel refused. THIS HOTEL WAS RUNDOWN AND UNACCEPTABLE when most French hotels at this price point are great. THE ROOM WAS FREEZING, THE HEATING DID NOT WORK ,THE MATTRESS SAGGING AND THE FURNITURE BEATEN UP. After arguing with the manager for several minutes about the heating situation, he finally relinquished and put us in a warmer room on another floor but the ROOM WAS STILL A DUMP compared to other hotels in this price range. For a city which has recently received a UNESCO designation, this hotel is a disgrace. And to make matters worse, we were staying here because at Christmas time, we did not want to disturb our friends where we normally stay. We are regular travelers to this city and were disgusted regarding how this situation was played out. No hotel guest should be subjected to an argument over an unheated room. Instead of just moving us to another room right away, we had to spend a long time arguing with the manager who basically told us it was too bad that there was no heat. SHAME ON IBIS and SHAME ON BOOKING.COM. I always use BOOKING. COM which is usually great so no excuse here. SAVING GRACE-wonderful morning clerk and incredible breakfast.
