  : The location was perfect for me: only 15 minutes walk from where I was working and on the edge of the historic centre of Toulouse. The welcome was friendly, the room spacious, the bed comfortable, the shower easy to use and pretty decent. Breakfast choice was outstanding. I am coeliac, so it is always lovely when there is a good range of food offered (which isn’t just croissant & baguettes). In this case, you could have mixed salad and fruit and there were loads of yoghurts
  : I really liked this hotel, so the ‘minuses’ are all minor ones. The hooks on the bathroom door were far too small and so the towels kept dropping off. While I understand the need for mattress protectors, it’s really a vicious circle: they are meant to stop any liquid from reaching the mattress, but they make you sweat so badly themselves! Lastly, and again - a minor and personal peeve - the decor. I had forgotten Mercure hotels have a purple theme and I have a purple aversion, so my room wasn’t the most restful, visually. Also, the decor in the reception area is not the greatest: the carpet looks as though acid has been thrown all over it, the chandeliers and armchairs could have been from a pantomime set - oversized and ugly and finally - what is the point of those heavy revolving doors? But, as I said, these are all minor complaints and all very subjective.
