  : The location is good, close to cafs, restaurants, shops and the bus station, and a thirty-minute walk to the plaza mayor in old Cuenca. The staff was very courteous and helpful, and the two-person lift was a plus, since I was in one of the upper floors. The room included a desk, which is a big plus for me, since I'm a writer, and the bed was comfortable. The curtains blocked out the light perfectly, night and day, and the closet was spacious.
  : This is a budget place in a retrofitted building, and the rooms are in need of updating. I had to let the faucets run for a long time to get hot water, and the shower head, of the hand-held type, did not fit well in its support, so the first time I turned it on it went flying like some kind of water dragon, spraying water everywhere. There are mold and rust stains in some places. The management is adamant that guests do not bring food up to the rooms, which suggests to me they may have a pest problem, but I abided by the rule and saw no uninvited creatures.

  : Everything about the hotel was easy - entry with an electronic card, the lift worked and the hotel is small enough to be homely. The bed was super comfortable and the staff attentive and friendly.
  : It would be a real bonus if the hotel offered breakfast .
