  : The location was perfect. A beautiful old converted barn, in a nice location of the Lake District.
  : No outside lights, made the arrival very dangerous. The pathway was full of dog excrement that if I hadnt had torch we would have stood in. The welcome was non existent. The overall ambiance was the place had seen better and more lucrative days. The room had no complimentary soaps or shampoo as promised. The bathroom had no toilet roll. The hallway was full of old suitcases. The keys were left under a plant pot and the front door was particularly difficult to unlock. There was no breakfast, which it offered on booking.com. When we arrived we had call someone who told he had a family emergency so we didnt bother them.

  : St bees is in my opinion not the best place to get a taste of the lake district. Glad we stayed only a few nights.

  : Room, bathroom and towels were clean at least
  : Several things I did not like or come up to expectations: 1) Owner's three dogs grabbed hold of my boots and laces in the garden and wouldn't let go, preventing me getting to the front door without me shouting at them and shoving them away 2) Lots of dog poo over the lawn, next to paths and by reception door - been there some time 3) Key I was given did not open front door when I returned after dinner out at local Pub. A guy with no shirt opened the door and immediately ran away upstairs 4) Room was very cold on arrival and had to ask for the heating to be put on 5) Main hall way and stairs did not look like they had been cleaned in weeks 6) Bed sheets had been washed (I think) but the mattress sheet had quite a lot of pieces of loose dirt and hairs Apparently the owner was away??
