  : Very warm welcome on an exceedingly wet and stormy day, I arrived in the morning and although my room was obviously not ready, was encouraged to use the hotel facilities.
  : Service at evening meal was very slow (though I was not in any hurry!)

  : The reception was nicely furnished but we waited quite a while before anyone appeared. We discovered this is because there weren't enough staff and they doubled as help in the dining room. The corridors were shabby with dirty carpets. Our bedroom had an overpowering smell of damp so we needed the window wide open the entire time. Pillow was old and hard. Shower door was thick of mould and funk but even after we cleaned it ourselves the strong smell remained in the bedroom. When dining I asked for a decaf flat white coffee and was bluntly told No. I was directed to make my own coffee from the machine. This hotel is far short of four star. All of the female staff were lovely and helpful but at breakfast we're overwhelmed and we had to ask for plates or spoons or cereal etc.Would not recommend and have stayed in better 3 star hotels.
