  : Sadly the room we booked wasn’t available so the bed was smaller than we were used to. They gave us a room with a view but we weren’t planning on staying in the room very much so it was a bit pointless.

  : Location in central Oxford. So upset by the really poor afternoon tea experience that we did not take breakfast or use the restaurant or bar or other facilities.
  : Allocated a superior room upgrade but found this was far from the hotel up and down endless stairs and corridors. The room when we got there was OK but ordinary - hardly superior. Dreadful view out of the window onto tatty rooftops.We had booked afternoon tea at an eye watering price of around £100 for 2. The staff had no knowledge of the booking. They allocated us a table with really really stupid "designer" chairs. When we sat in these chairs our chins were at table level. I complained but nothing happened. Therefore I had to go into the restaurant myself and ask for 2 sensible chairs. When the afternoon tea eventually arrived it was very poor with stodgy scones, stale sandwiches, the tiniest savoury tart I have ever seen and a few sickly cakes.In fairness to The Randolph I raised all these matters with management and was offered compensation which indeed softened the disappointment. Readers may conclude I am being unfair to write this criticism after taking their money.However I would rather have had the stylish quality that I was supposed to be paying for instead of the expensive pretentious superficial experience that transpired.

  : Great location in central Oxford. Walk to everything. Alice is a lovely restaurant.
  : Not great sound insulation in the rooms. Creaky floors! Lovely staff but sometimes the service seemed a bit confused.

  : The hotel is in a great location and the building is very attractive inside and out. The room was large and comfortable. The Morse Bar is a great place for a cocktail and the restaurant offers a good selection of dishes at a reasonable price.
  : It is quite pricey, but then it is one of Oxford's better hotels.
