  : Dont be fooled by the photos - yes, its a beautiful and historic building but thats the only positive I can find to write about, and thats just the outside of it. Describing itself as a lively pub is accurate, but sadly for the wrong reasons, unless of course you want to party the night away. With disco music blasting out until 4am (live music ended at 11), someone then banging drunkenly on our door and a WC shredder shuddering every 15 minutes, it was the worst night Ive ever spent in a hotel. A very disappointing way to end a lovely days walking along the Wye from Tintern. To describe the rooms as refurbished is seriously misleading. What is also misleading (or complete misinformation) is being told by the manager hell be up to give you breakfast - no sign of anyone anywhere. Just comments in the bookings diary from a few other similarly disgruntled customers asking for a full refund. Additional misinformation on the website is that a full English breakfast is included and that all rooms have power showers and flat screen TVs. Kicking ourselves that we didnt read the reviews before booking. Dont make the same mistake as us.

  : The location was great
  : We booked two rooms. One room had a window literally hanging on one hinge and no way of closing it properly, the other room had the toilet flush not stop filling after the flush and the tv not working at all. On top of that - the manager indicated that there would be a Halloween party, and although most guests were friends attending the party, they put myself and daughter in the room that absorbed all the noise from the pub area. We managed to stay out till 10pm, but were told the music would stop at 11pm. When i asked if the music (for the 10 guests) could be put down just a little I was told no. I mentioned the TV had no Internet, so I was left listening to the loud noise from the main bar and could see that the manager was under the influence. He said he wasnt working. I asked if I could speak to who ever was in charge at that time - and he said the owner was at the party and he wouldnt tell me who that was.I went back to my room and tried to encourage my 15yr old with me to sleep. The music turned off at 11:15pm and we dosed off quickly . At 11:45pm the music came back on again. I stayed in my room and tossed for the next 2 hours before I lost my patience and again went down stairs to find the manager with a young lady and two other male friends standing around under my room chatting with the music on. They turned the music off fairly quickly at 2am, but continued to chat till probably around 5am I was in and out of sleep as I could hear them the whole night laughing and chatting the doors wide open without once considering they could have closed them and spared us all some noise and irritation.Suffice to say, the bedrooms were probably the worst in the buildingbut the staff were useless and couldnt care less for their guests visiting Monmouth for the first time.They dont deserve to host anybody and certainly dont deserve a rating above 1 for ensuring I didnt get any proper sleep and for the very poor management of the Queens head.

  : Can't say there was anything I liked save fir the history of the building.
  : The room had no television we had to ask for one. Toilet seat broken, no hairdryer. No milk or spoons to make tea. The noise from the bar below was unbelievably loud and continued until 12.30.

  : The location was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly.
  : The 1st room we were in was very basic and the window was broken and came off the hinges when we tried to close it. I reported this immediately to the staff and they moved us to another room. It was OK but had no TV no radiator and there were stains on the carpet and the shower tap was leaking badly and lots of litter under the bed.

  : Nothing. Location was ok.
  : The worst night stay I have ever had in a hotel. The landlord held a disco that blared out until midnight shaking the beds (despite being told it would finish between 11-11:30). This is obviously a regular occurrence as we heard the DJ saying he would be back next week. Then the landlord proceeded to have a party with his friends loudly shouting under our room with music until 4am. When we went down multiple times to ask him to be quiet, his friends were intimidating and rude whilst he sat in silence giggling. This morning when I went to get a refund he was nowhere to be seen (and didnt answer the phone). Not only was this horrendous but the first room we were shown had no working light, toilet or shower and unlike advertised there is no breakfast on offer.
