  : The room and facilities in the room were very nice and the added bonus of the balcony was very relaxing.Breakfast was lovely, apart from the world's slowest toasters that even when set at the highest setting took ages to toast. There also wasn't an option of oat milk or almond milk but there were so many options this didn't matter.
  : Our first impressions weren't all that great as we did get the feeling we were being slightly judged for being younger adults as a lot of the other guests were older. This did change as the week went on though. We also had high expectations for the food, given their awards, but the food was expensive, bland (it wasn't seasoned right and the broccoli was yellow and tasted off...it was similar to care home food) and it wasn't the best ingredients, the chicken was grey and wasn't the best part of the chicken. If you wanted anything like potatoes with it you had to pay extra. There wasn't really any sauce it was just water. The burger was full of liquid and tasteless, my other half could barely finish it. We paid over £100 for the meal and the only redeeming feature was the desert. After this we didn't eat our evening meal there again and went to different restaurants in the towns we were visiting. In our room, the bath was broken, the overspill cover was falling off and was tiny, my partner who is 6"2 couldn't have a bath as it was way too small for him. The toilet was hard to flush, and when you did black lines would bleed from around the loo, the vent was extremely loud and the bath plug was filthy. The duvet also had a zip right down the middle which was very odd and when we got into the room the chair in the room was covered in crumbs and bits of biscuit from the last people.The spa wasn't anything special either, with a small jacuzzi (which my other half hit his shins on but he wasn't paying attention so that's his fault) a steam room and an aromatherapy room where the centre bit wasn't secure. To get to the Spa from upstairs, as there were no changing facilities, you had to get changed in your room then walk through the reception area in your robe which isn't the best, especially at certain times of the day.

  : Food was exceptional, we ate breakfast every morning which was fresh and delicious, we had dinner one night both the Lamb and steak were cooked and present perfectly, both service and food were fantastic. Spa although small it was adequate, fresh and relaxing.
  : Our room had a few areas which needed freshened up with some paint on woodwork, ceiling and furniture.

  : Very nice hotel with good facilities and a nice breakfast.
  : We were charged £10 / night to park in the hotel car park, which we thought was outrageous. When we queried this, we were told if we didn't like it we could park somewhere in the village at a pay & display car park. Because of this, we are unlikely to stay there again.

  : Great location in the Lake District, just outside the centre of Grasmere. The hotel has a lovely garden and ample parking spaces on-site. Staff is very friendly and helped us select a suitable hike starting from the village. The room was nice and spacious with an equally spacious bathroom. Breakfast was nice, with lots of cooked options to choose from.
