  : Carolyn and Lex were very welcoming and helpful hosts. The breakfasts were excellent, eaten at a large dining-room table which also accommodates other guests. The traditional farmhouse is set in pleasant countryside, along a very narrow and winding road off the A68, which goes through to the A6079 - so a bit more remote than we had realised, but we soon got used to it in driving to Hexham (about 15 minutes) or Corbridge (about 10 minutes) to explore these towns or to eat in the evening. (Carolyn has information about the best places to eat, including a good pub in Humshaugh, a short drive away.)
  : Nothing! We will hope to return here in better weather, to enjoy more of Hadrian's Wall.
