  : Room was well equipped with coffee, tea making facilities. Nicely decorated. Good shower. Good hot water!Excellent location in town with convenient hotel parking. Very good breakfast. Friendly service.
  : Bed was a bit hard as were the pillows. Room was quite small and bathroom was tiny!

  : The pillows stunk awfully. They were disgusting!!!Had to wash the smell off me in the shower. And use a cushion instead. Very very disappointed by this!! The pillows amd duvet in my room must be thrown away. Do not Subject another guest to this awful experience.

  : Beautifully furnished room in keeping with the remainder of the building. Mine was a fleeting visit and I failed to sample the bar and restaurant but I'd gladly stay again to do so.
  : A bit more effort to clean behind the curtains would be good and I did encounter quite a bit of noise from the adjacent beer garden during my stay. These were minor inconveniences though and overall my stay was a good one.

  : Exquisitely furnished and VERY spacious room, cleverly split into living/bedroom areas, with comfortable and characterful period/antique furniture/décor and historic portraits (+ coat of arms) all over the walls. Fascinating historical details in the communal parts as well. Spotlessly clean, too! If they can fix the ventilation/temperature issue [see below], then 5* throughout, a really splendid place to stay!
  : However - a big BUT - the windows in this room (no.110) (newly refurbished as air-tight) do not open at all. So in warm weather (and the room does get the afternoon sun), this can be a really uncomfortable room to stay in. Yes, there is ONE air conditioning unit, but even having this on full blast I couldn't get the interior temperature down below 22.4 degrees C, even overnight. Outside weather temperature was pleasant at the time I stayed, but in the height of summer, this room would be horribly stifling.

  : The rooms were a bit dusty and only have double beds rather than extra large beds as per listing (but I do you note that mention is made of just double beds in the blurb)

  : Good food, comfortable bed, friendly and accommodating staff. Hotel has lots of character and our room was well appointed and a decent size. Modern en-suite shower room with nice accoutrements and good to see the tap water was roasting hot and not lukewarm. Hotel was able to provide a cot for our baby too including a mattress and there was plenty of space in the room for this.
  : Extremely limited car parking - 5 spaces - so unless you arrive early, you have to park in a pay and display car park up the road. To be fair, there’s not a lot the hotel can do to change that due to the limited space/location.Fire alarms went off as the hotel was too hot seemingly, which wasn’t great given we had been travelling for 16 hours and were all asleep. Rooms were hot, no AC, just a desktop fan in the room which was largely ineffectual. In spite of the alarms going off due to a system fault being identified, all guests were still evacuated at 22:30 into the street in the cold and rain. My 7 month old baby was woken and was scared and cold and it took 2 hours to get her back to sleep. No compensation offered eg a complimentary breakfast which would have been nice.
