  : My first observation was the reasonable price for a last minute booking and it included breakfast too. The host was very welcoming, and provided a nice level of chat to make us feel at home. We were shown to our room and given a key for the room and instructions about the front door. Initially the room seemed fine, the bedding looked fresh and clean. There was a clean kettle, an adequate number of hot drinks and milk supplied in the room. There were also two packets of basic biscuits. There was a dustbin in both the ensuite bathroom and bedroom along with a whole host of different bathrrom cleaning products. There was a supply of small bottles of bodywash, shampoo etc. The breakfast room was inviting and pleasant to sit in with a view of the garden, chicken run (and washing line). The breakfast food was adequate, with a limited selection of cereal, fruit juice, and fresh fruit salad. We were given a cooked breakfast with an option of cooked eggs on toast as the vegetarian option. The poached egg was cooked to perfection.
  : There was only one mug in our room, which we had to wash in the bathroom sink and share. There were no teaspoons either, which was inconvenient. I'm sure it was just an oversight, but the host was not about when we came downstairs so we had to make do with the arm of my glasses to stir the mug. There was a weird sweet smell in the room, couldn't quite place it, but it wasn't pleasant. It was a powdery smell I've only ever associated with old people's homes, i don't think it was air freshener, it might have been rotting floor boards. I admit i have a very sensitive nose, other people might not have noticed it. The floor and the beds creaked a lot, which was tolerable once you were lying still but you dare not move for risk of waking other people. As a result we didn't get a fantastic nights sleep, but it was adequate. The noise from one of the other guest's tv was pretty annoying, the road outside was also pretty noisy but tolerable when you got used to it.The towels in the bathroom, although clean,were very tatty and had seen better days. The hand towel was grey in colour and the 'white' towels were a pretty close shade. The bathroom had brackets on the wall for a glass shelf that had not been replaced and hooks on the wall presumably for pictures that had been removed. The mould on the shower head and corners of the shower was noticeable and the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work. There was a 'helpful' plaque on the wall with instructions on how to use the toilet without splashing. I didn't really think that was either necessary nor decorative (it was a bit cringe in my opinion) but obviously the owners of the guest house are perfectly entitled to decorate how they see fit.

  : Friendly welcoming owner, couldn't do more for us during our stay. The breakfast was amazing.
  : The mattress was a little harder than were used too but I can live with that. Nothing was bad really.

  : Could have had plant milk as I mentioned being vegan but its a minor issue.

  : The single room was very cozy, the owner was also very accommodating having the room ready for me early. Breakfast was great, recommend the scrambled eggs
