  : Beautiful location lodges were fully equipped and loved the log fire, especially with the weather being damp & dreich.
  : The new park although in a beautiful location, was too far to walk to the resturants, no taxis available when we called which put a dampner on the birthday meal, we had to drive down meaning it was a quieter day out.

  : The area we were in didnt have any communal space where children could play.

  : Sauna didnt work on arrival and repaired in day 5 of 1 weeks holiday. Would have assumed facilities checked prior to arrival. Hot tub was great but location in shade most of the time, lodge next door had sunshine all day

  : The location is so nice, very peaceful.
  : This time around we felt like the lodge was not properly cleaned for us arriving. Some parts were dirty and we even found someones smelly socks in the wardrobe. We experienced a power cut for one full day of our stay which really put a damper on things, with 3 young kids in the pitch black with nothing was hard. There was a piece of art on the wall in the hallway that came flying off and nearly hurt my sons head, so that clearly wasnt put up properly. So sad to write this as last year we stayed in the Tanfield and had the best time but this time around wasnt the same unfortunately.

  : Beautiful setting, everything you need, provided I. The lodge even a pint of milk in the fridge on arrival. Lovely quiet location with great views.
  : The only downside was the early checkout at 10am on Sunday. I completely understand an early checkout in a hotel if you have guests arriving later that day ( although most hotels have an 11am Sunday checkout) but when staying in a self catering lodge, it takes time to repack all the food, drink , belongings etc you brought for the weekend for a large group of people. . Having arrived later than planned on Friday night because of an accident which shut the road to Aberfeldy, we had a lovely day on Saturday , went out for dinner Saturday night.. However on our return back to the lodge that night , we had to start packing up tidying up, empty out all the food from the fridge etc,then all get up early on Sunday morning to allow for showers , breakfast .before 10am for 5 people. Even if the checkout was at 12, it would give guests enough time to pack up all their belongings and have breakfast before check out . As it was we went to bed early to make the 10am checkout which put a damper on my birthday celebrations on the Saturday night. An otherwise fabulous break in a beautiful setting but would put us off returning as it felt rushed
