  : Location is okay but there's crazy traffic.
  : Horrendous staff - they have no respect and don't know how to speak without being abusive and nasty. Would never go back and advise others to avoid. A grown man was shouting at my smallish wife extremely close to her face due to a misunderstanding and left her in tears.

  : The hotel is well located for tourists who want to visit the major attractions and the more distant attractions within Istanbul. Turn right outside the hotel and it is a pleasant fifteen minute stroll to the Sultanahmet district with the two big mosques etc. Turn left and walk down the bank and it is a ten minute stroll past Turkish Delight shops etc down to the ferry port where there are ferries available to the Galata Tower area or the Asian side of the Bosphorus. Immediately opposite the hotel entrance is an area containing many restaurants and places to buy drinks. At the rear of the hotel is a cheap self-service canteen which serves popular food to locals and tourists. The Spice Bazaar and The Grand Bazaar are fifteen minute strolls too. Breakfast is good and plentiful. Before we went I read some reviews which suggested that breakfast was not up to the expectations of visitors. Unless the hotel had dropped its usual standards whilst those visitors were there (I suspect that would be very unlikely) then I am presuming that the people who were dissatisfied must have been expecting to only eat the type of breakfast that they eat at home and are averse to eating 'foreign' food. Breakfast was good. It consisted of a self-service buffet including fresh fruit, dried fruits, fresh salads and vegetables, yoghurt, honey, olives, different types of bread, jam, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, cooked sausage, hot spicy tomato sauce containing cooked vegetables such as onion and tomato, cheeses, slices of cooked meat, biscuits and cakes. There was a selection of coffees and teas plus diluted fruit drinks. It was not a 'Full English' and it was not a French-style breakfast. It was Turkish with a very good selection of different food for the traveller wanting to try something slightly different. The staff were very polite and helpful at all times. The room we had was a deluxe twin room on the third floor. When we arrived it was clean.
  : (I have no complaints) The beds were long and very comfortable (I like a firm bed), the air conditioning worked properly, the safe deposit box was large enough for your possessions (not a full-size laptop), there was sufficient storage space for clothing, the shower worked well and there were sufficient clean towels. It fully met my expectations for comfort. When we did not want the room serviced we could indicate that by an external light. When we wanted the room serviced we received replenishment of towels, coffee and tea to use with the provided kettle, toiletries etc. If we ran out of anything then the reception desk helped us to obtain extra items when we needed it. If you are a traveller who demands silence then why would you go to Istanbul? There is building work going on all over the city and taxi drivers must have a week's course on how to sound their horns as often as possible. The area around the hotel is not immune to those sounds but that is not the fault of the hotel... it is the sound of Istanbul. I liked hearing the 'call to prayer' and all the hustle and bustle of the city... that is what we went to experience and see. The people who have complained about internal noises within the hotel do have a point... we were there ten nights, longer than the people in neighbouring rooms. The weakness in the soundproofing between rooms is the possibility of hiring adjoining rooms. When the rooms are not hired together, new occupants can not help trying the interconnecting door until they discover it is locked and you can hear your neighbours if they talk loudly or have young children who will not settle. It never spoiled our stay... we were aware of occasional noise and accepted it. I would not have any hesitation in staying at this hotel again. I was pleased with the location, comfort, food and helpfulness of the staff. Make sure to use the ferries and visit the Asian side (Kadikoy) the view from the ferries is wonderful.
