  : My husband and son stayed at this hotel for a week, December 23rd to 29th. The hotel is at the top of the mountain, the view is wonderful, the staff are nice, but house keeping needs to improve a lot, they only make the bed, don't vacuum the floor, don't change towels or replace shampoo, soap, everything you need ask at reception, there was no phone in the room, anything you need you need to go to reception, the breakfast is not very good, but for me the worst part was the hotel restaurant which only had 3 starter options, 3 food option, very disappointing. Our room's bed gave me back pain every day. We will definitely return to Hemsedal because the ski resort is very good, but we will look for another accommodation option.

  : Location is breathtaking. Amazing breakfast and very , very, very lovely staff.
  : Knowing that uts a common practice in the region, I nevertheless would have loved (even a limited, maybe during the day hours) ability to attend sauna & SPA area with my child.

  : Absolutely stunning location and a beatiful, stylish hotel. The spa was lovely and the ski lockers some of the nicest I've seen.
  : While the staff were friendly, it felt completely disorganised. 1. The hotel feels like a maze to new guests, and while we were given directions to our room when we checked in, being told to take the lift to the basement for the ski lockers wasn't helpful - turns out there are three different lifts in different parts of the building that go to different places - only one goes to the lockers! We spent a lot of time wondering around the hotel on our first day, and there are no maps and very few signs. 2. We were told to book a time slot for the spa to help manage numbers, but weren't told there was a charge and we weren't given directions. Cue another 15 minutes wondering the hotel and an unexpected bill at the end. 3. We ate in the restaurant on two nights - the first was good and the pizzas we ordered were great. The second night was total disarray - the kitchen was short-staffed, which we overheard the waitress tell another table. After an hour's wait we were offered a drink on the house, although without apology or explanation. When food arrived, my caneloni was small and barely warm - I wish I'd ordered a pizza!4. The ski lift up to the hotel was out of order for the three days we were there. Whilst not the hotel's fault, the lack of clarity around buses (from both the hotel staff and the resort) made getting around really hard. The "not our buses, not our problem" attitude really wore thin - the hotel should do more to make sure its guests are comfortable, especially when that hotel is halfway up a mountain! Overall, we spent a lot of money on this stay and were really looking forward to it. We left feeling disappointed and frustrated.

  : We LOVED our room! And if we were better at skiing it would have been amazing to try the ski in-out option. We will definitely do it next time!
  : Food options were just okay. Also very disappointed that one of the restaurants was closed the entire time we were there. Biggest issue was that wed never stayed at a ski resort or gone skiing, and the receptionists didnt really offer any guidance on what to do, even after we told them we were new to all of it. Also wouldve been great if the hotel offered some kind of lessons (maybe through SkiStar?) for beginners even if there is a cost associated.
