  : Location is great, as were the staff! The rooms themselves presented nicely, very clean, and the beds were comfortable.
  : Unfortunately my TV was absolutely unusable, so slow...kept lagging when connected to my phone for the apps. Had to give up and turn it off, a waste of time. Probably due to the WIFI which was absolutely poor throughout my stay too. Seal on the shower door was half falling out, coursing water to spill out all over the floor, obviously the staff were aware about it but chose to keep pretending it didn't need mending. A nice range of drinks in the minibar for a late night drink, however absolutely no way to drink them as no bottle opener was provided, and there's no staff to assist after 9pm. Such a shame.

  : Bonnie on reception was very polite and helpful when we asked to change to a room with a proper closet, and she also provided a kettle when we asked for one.
  : Where to begin? The website and reviews made it out to be a boutique hotel with fabulous rooms and attentive service. However, on arrival (9pm because our flight was delayed), we asked the the man on reception where we might eat and he said "the Dutch eat early, everywhere is closed now." with a kind of jokey shrug. We were tired and hungry. Eventually he suggested a place where we might get snacks. Luckily this turned out to be adequate. Regarding the hotel: rooms are all in a different building to reception so you don't get that 'good morning' and chance to speak to staff as you normally do in a hotel, unless you make the effort to go outside and then next door. The stairs are narrow and precipitous. Luckily we were on the ground floor but our friends were not. We were told on check in that they had a policy of not changing towels or even cleaning during a stay, unless it is specifically requested. We may as well have been in a self-catering unit, but without the catering facilities. Not having your bed made each day wasn't nice. All the rooms we saw were very small, and in fact Room 10 (the first we were offered) had nowhere to store clothing - no drawers, and only a short cupboard without a door and a hanging rail the height of which was only good for shirts or jackets. No hooks anywhere. We had to have our suitcases open on the floor - not ideal when there's so little floorspace anyway. We were in Leiden to give a concert but there was nowhere to hang even a short dress. When moved to Room 2 it was a big improvement but still no drawers. Our friends upstairs had a bad time - there was a shelf right above the (tiny) sink, making it impossible to clean one's teeth! They also suffered from a tiny inadequate hanging cupboard, and when he took out his suit to wear for the concert it was wet through, presumably due to some sort of leak as it had rained overnight. When he reported this he merely got an apology.

  : The courtyard at the back.
  : No windows that could open - only doors at each end of the apartment. No proper bedclothes for the second bed. The design with the bathroom in the middle does.t really work with two people. No instructions to the stove, coffee machine etc. It wasn't clear there was no freezer.
