  : No stop on the sliding bathroom door, had a near miss twitch the end of a finger and was more careful after that.

  : We liked that the bus stop was right by the hotel and that the hotel had easy parking.
  : We found the staff of the hotel rather unfriendly, the AC and fridge didn’t work, the room was also pretty dirty, our room was also right by the window and smelled a lot of weed. It says sound proof rooms but we heard everything going on beside us.

  : the location was great - whilst the hotel isn't in central Amsterdam, it was in a lovely suburban area, which was close to the university (ideal as we were going to a conference there) - and only a short bus ride away to/from the airport/central town etc.. The hotel staff offered lots of useful services (bike hire, recommendations etc.).
  : when I arrived the female receptionist wasn't very friendly, although most of the other staff were really accommodating. My room had a balcony which connected to the next room - when I arrived this door was open and couldn't be closed. The manager was able to close it with a key and reassured me that it was definitely locked, but I'm not sure they quite understood why a solo woman staying by herself in the room would feel unsafe knowing that whoever was in the next room could have access. Apparently guests aren't allowed to open these doors and will be fined for going on to the balcony - however, the doors were easily opened, and there is no signage to say this, which would be a useful improvement and reassurance (to solo female travellers especially). Luckily, I had colleagues staying in other rooms, but not sure I'd stay here again if I was totally by myself. After reading other reviews, I can see that this is an ongoing issue, so they are very aware of this problem.The rooms definitely aren't soundproof so could hear people in the halls and the rooms felt like they could still use a deep clean (dust on surfaces etc., colleagues reported loose/broken appliances). I had breakfast included in the room, which was a good continental selection - however, it's 17 euro if you don't have it included, which is definitely overpriced (feel like it should be 10 euro maximum) so would recommend going elsewhere for breakfast.Tv didn't work in room, and not sure where the 'eco' part of the hotel was.
