  : My goodness, why does everyone give this hotel such a bad score? This place is a TREASURE! The GRAND hotel Salerno, baby! Massive rooms, nice balconies, all the stuff you possibly need I guess. OK OK OK, the whole place looks like something out of the 70s, but its hilarious! Stop taking yourselves so seriously. If you're going to be like that, why don't you spend x10 the price over on the Amalfi coast? Cheap as chips (chips not included)

  : Location in the center of the city with easy access to train, boat and bus stations. Almost perfect see view. Huge room with 4 beds for single person. Huge bathroom.
  : Breakfast can be better. A self service machine for water and snack in the basement will be bonus.

  : The location is excellent, with panoramic sea views and large comfortable rooms, some with 2 bathrooms. We were a family group of 11 with 6 rooms and all thecrooms were great.
  : 1 There were maintenance issues. Dome lights weren't working in the rooms,some had air conditioning problems, and the room had to be changed. 2. The staff attitude was very mixed - a few (like Francesca) were very helpful and cheerful, others indifferent, and even calling for a cab seemed a big ask fir them ! 3..Breakfast was very ordinary, with no hot dishes.

  : I think the view from some rooms is the only thing that keeps this place operable. But even then, you get the highway with its noise also. To be fair, breakfast was decent.
  : Upon entry, felt like a bit of a hospital ward. Seemingly no maintenance in decades. Pictures are definitely glamourized versions and real rooms look nothing like them. Everything is old. Rusty bathrooms. Dirty shower curtain. Shower mat that looked like its been alive since hte 50's. Ants on the floors that i was thankfully able to keep away with bug spray. My last morning there was a leak from the bathroom above mine from the electrical outlet. it only took three calls to the front desk to finally get someone to realize how incredibly dangerous of a risk this was to everyone at the hotel before they sent someone up. I booked this in a rush but if you're not desperate, save your money and skip it. You're better off (and maybe safer) in a tent on a nearby camp site or the beach - really.

  : breakfast is generous with a wonderful view on sea and mountains. The room is clean and large size with a balcony. Location is near the train station and along the see, perfect. Room is very quiet, no noise at all.
  : the only minus is the wifi that is less than optimal. Strong everywhere, it is too weak inside the room.

  : Near the station.
  : Room was small for the price. Restaurant was chaotic. Asked about the restaurant at 6.30pm only to be told no booking system and no menu, though they eventually found a hand written menu. Told to come back in 1 hour. Raining so I wanted to eat in. 7.45 the restaurant was heaving. Then my main course was brought out half way through my starter. Never known anything like it.

  : The bar closed at 10pm. For a hotel it s6have open till 12

Disappointing

  : The location to the ferries.
  : We got our room key and there was no power to our room. We went to reception to let them know and they said we needed to wait for maintenance to arrive to fix the power, they did not offer to move our room. We waited and hour and half and only knew the room was fixed when we went back to check with the front desk. We then realized the tub did not drain and went back down to reception again, and then they finally switched us to a different room. The air conditioning did not work in our new room.
