  : In the days before arrival, we had several communications with the villa. Their villa is in a mountainous area with not too many access roads to get there. Apparently several days before it had been storming heavily in the area, which meant that one of the available roads- being the main road if one comes from Genoa or Massa (the big cities around from the north and west)- was obstructed with fallen rocks. The only tunnel was completely blocked with rocks impossible to pass through by foot, let alone by car. Only about 1km before the blockage the road itself was closed off by the authorities with a sign. In other words, it was locally known to the authorities and to the local people. As tourists, we can only rely on information we have access to: google maps did not indicate any problems on the road. Once we were stopped in the car in front of the closed off road, which was at around 20:00, we called the villa belvedere and explained the situation. The only choice she gave us was a detour of 2h19min, which would makes us arrive at about 22:45, without having eaten and no option for food anymore as kitchens would be closed that late. Quite frankly it was not a valid option, especially being pregnant. Once again, locally it was known and the villa had several opportunities to inform us about the situation (for example in one of the before mentioned communications) We are very disappointed that they did not tell us in advance that the road was closed off, which they knew. Without that we told her where we were coming from, she knew exactly what we were talking about once we called her from our obstructed location. They knew, and choose not to be helpful, professional and courteous. We tried to communicate with the hotel afterwards, but were completely ignored. Booking tried to communicate about the situation, but were completely ignored. They're only in it for the money and don't care about their guests

  : The owners spoke little English (they are French) but were always polite and helpful. Beautiful view and comfortable bed. The set-up felt very traditional / old-fashioned, which I liked.
  : There was a minor problem with the shower (the hot water wasnt consistent) and the swimming pool wasnt in operation (but this was mid-April).
