  : The location, close to train station Brignole and close to the city center, is fabulous. The building is older but but very authentic and gorgeous. Our room had an opening window onto a central and quiet courtyard. We had a shower, toilet, sink and mini fridge in the room. The bed was comfortable. All good.The problems we had were with check in time and finding the apartment. Welcome to Italy. We were supposed to arrive at just after 6, so I entered (the required) check in time for 7 pm to 8 pm. However, our train was first delayed, then cancelled, which set us back 2 hours. Then the train lost another half hour. I contacted the hotel to let them know we'd be later, requesting a new check in time of 9 pm to 10 pm. I got a message back: rejected! Panic! I sent a message back, explaining the situ and heard nothing, partly due to crappy internet. We arrived at Brignole stn 15 minutes to 9 pm, which was the official end of check in time. No prob. Easy peasy. We were a few minutes away. Except finding the hotel is another uniquely Italian experience. No street level 'Hotel' sign easily recognizable to weary travellers. Nope. We passed the building 2 times before checking more closely at what looked like a residential apartment building address keypad. Sure enough, there it was, Albergo Novecento. We rang the bell and a friendly voice buzzed us in. Take the lift, it's charming, 3rd floor.
  : There could be better instructions on how to find the hotel. And having stayed there now, I understand why the manager wants to know the check in times (it's a much more personal set up than the usual hotel experience), but it was very stressful to hear that we wouldn't be able to have a later check in time. In the end, we were lucky, I read reviews of some people who had worse experiences.

  : The building was built in the early 1900's and the facilities are badly deteriorated, although well maintained by the operator, some things are really due for refurbishment

  : Nice room, large bed and sink and small wardrobe in the room. Also Ventilator and AC in the room. The staff was very helpful option giving an option for late check in and also to leave luggage before check in or after check out. Everything worked well from check in to check out. Bathroom was located on the same floor and a floor below which lead to one always being available. Around 15 mins away from the duomo
  : A bit expensive, but that's due to location I guess.

  : The proximity of the property to the bus stations and city center is what I love most about the property. The room is quite spacious, has a fridge and comfortable beds with enough duvet and blanket to keep warm. The room heater wasn't working, but another heater was provided which kept us very warm. The check-out time was very convenient, it gave us ample time to get enough rest after moving up and down the city.
  : I didn't really like the bathroom, it's okay and clean to be honest. But, it's kinda old style.
