  : Location is excellent, right next to the railway station and 5 minutes walk to centre of town.Room was large.Staff very friendly.This was a last minute booking (same day) and we had stayed here before so we knew what to expect.
  : The room itself could have done with some TLC, old paint and marks everywhere. We had a cracked toilet bowl and a hand held shower in a bath with no shower screen so you could not stand up to shower.The room was hot, it had been 28 degrees during the day but we could not get the room cooled down. There was a fan which helped and we had to leave the window open during the night but there is a late bar just along the road with loud music.

  : A traditional hotel close to the old town with phantastic views across the valley to sky-high mountains. Very friendly staff, several excellent local restaurants ('grotti') down the street. Reliable daily room-service keeps the place perfectly clean. The Crimea's own eatery, Il Locale, is the top place to eat in Chiavenna in my view.
  : Same as above. Traditional also means that the place is a little run-down and could do with a makeover. The attractive restaurants are full of guests until deep into the night, and the Italian way of celebrating with friends makes sure you won't find much quiet before midnight. The single room I had was basically furnished. One little thing that might improve comfort would be to add a soap-dish to the shower. But this is my personal grudge with almost all hotels: what are you supposed to do with the soap when you're not whipping up foam?

  : Clean. Bed and pillows super comfortable. Really nice breakfast.
  : Rooms are really old and require a thorough update. Lightning in general not good both in the room and the bathroom. No curtain in the bathtub so when showering youll always make a mess.
