Villa Zottopera - Exclusive holiday

  : My wife and I had a fantastic stay at Villa Zottopera. Signor Alfredo and signora Catherina are very welcoming and they try hard to please their guests. The place is very calm, the pool is excellent and a very generous healthy breakfast is served for a fee.
  : The restaurant was not functional due to low demand from guests. There was another family staying at the Villa when we were there but apparently they had not asked for the restaurant so it was kept shut. We had to look to other restaurants in the area for our dinner. to top it all, a restaurant nearby which we found good, happened to close on Tuesdays so what had to go to Pedalino, a village about 5 km away, for a pizza. My wife and I like to have dinner at the place we would be staying but this was not possible this time.

  : Lovely pool and great with a tennis court. Also loved the surroundings (olive fields etc) and the dinner. Nice hosts.
  : No light in the bathroom - When we arrived there was no light in the bathroom, promised it got fixed the day after. But still was not fixed during our one week stay. Cleaning - it was clean when we arrived, but there was no cleaning/no clean towels etc during our entire stay. Especially troublesome because of termites in the tree sealing resulting in wood/dirt on the floor. With a 1 week stay we would have expected at least one cleaning. Communication - no English skills. Despite the charm and the hosts are kind it is very problematic. We did not get any introduction to the place, how kitchen etc worked etc. They offered dinner every night (which is lovely) The menu is listed online and in the room to be 18EUR/person per night but when we checked out after having eaten there all week, we were told it was suddenly raised to 25EUR per night person - exceeding our planned food budget quite a bit (~30%). We loved the dinners but really felt cheated as it wasnt stated anywhere and we were not told.

  : The apartment was lovely - generous amount of space and comfortably furnished. We ate dinner on several evenings , cooked by Ana, which was superb and reasonably priced. The pool was great and everything for playing tennis was provided
  : Plenty of towels and linen were provided but only one pillow per person with no extras for those that sleep better with two.

  : Beautiful, quiet property in the middle of the countryside. The room was of decent size and we had a little outdoor garden too. The pool is very nice. If you get the chance, book for dinner as the local food was fantastic! If not, the closest restaurant is a pizzeria which was quite good as well.
  : The shower did not work properly but it was not a big deal. The AC was a bit noisy.
