Hotel Jafferau

: We were on a biking holiday in the summer and like the skiing accessed the tracks right from the hotel door.
: The buffet restaurant food was really good and plenty of choice.

: Lovely location and staff. We really appreciated the free pastries at tea time and at the aperitif time. Really big plus for that!
: The room was slightly small for a family of four. But as we were staying just for a night it was ok.

  : Location & friendly staff.
: Menu for dinner. Fitness. Kids Club was very disappointing: almost no surveillance, only cartoons & video games.

: The breakfast was superb, room was spacious and the free garage for our motorcycle is good for 9/10.
: Oddly, the curtain in the bathroom was missing. Wouldn't be an issue on the higher floors but we were just below the road were people were passing walking the dogs. The road to get to the hotel from Bardonecchia could be tricky in the winter time. It's narrow, damaged and quite steep

: The hotel was understaffed, but the international staff were extremely hard-working and attentive. We enjoyed the aperitif hour with abundant canaps but, sadly, none were gluten-free. Even after 3 weeks, I always had to request potato chips for myself or bring a cup of peanuts and almonds from the breakfast buffet to enjoy with my drink. There was a great variety on the dinner buffet, but again, gluten-free items were lacking. 3 pastas each night, risotto only twice in 3 weeks Massimo and Michela went the extra mile and made sure I had a variety of gf bread, breadsticks, and crackers at our table each night.
: The hotel has changed owners and is in need of a makeover. It's a bit run-down, and the design of the fireplace room is odd. There are big columns blocking the view of the fireplace! There wasn't a binder in the room explaining the services offered and a price list for the bar, which was way too small! They didn't keep us informed about things. The outdoor sauna and hot tub were being offered for free on August 14th and 15th, but we only found out by overhearing a staff member telling another guest. They didn't tell us about the flooding in Bardonecchia. We wondered why the cabin lift wasn't running ! We received some messages from friends asking if we were OK because they knew we were in the area, didn't know what they meant! We appreciated that they accepted dogs, but there wasn't a special dog 'relief' area, and the dogs were all relieving themselves in the grass around the kids' play area right outside the front door making the grass all yellow. Maybe they should arrange a separate exit to the side .
