Grand Hotel Faraglioni

Good
Traveller Type:
: The hotel is located quite far from the center, so it is in a quiet and peaceful area. No traffic or loud noises, just the sound of the sea and the waves. The room was nice, quite big, very spacious bathroom. Comfortable beds, plenty of pillows. The staff were polite and helpful.
: I did not get the room I had booked - had asked for a double with a balcony, and instead had a 3 bed room, and no balcony. We tried to eat at the restaurant, but when we asked to sit outside, they said outside was not possible, even though all the tables were empty. The hotel is pretty far from the center, and we struggled to get a taxi to take us there. I ordered breakfast in my room the last day, and it was very mediocre.

Pleasant
Traveller Type:
: The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly. Location was good for a selection of restaurants in the evenings and the atmosphere in the local piazza was fun and lively.
: The terrace restaurant was only open from 5 pm and was closed most of the nights we stayed due to private functions. The music from the bar next door went on until 12pm every night and kept us awake. You could only access the beach opposite the hotel via an additional payment to the beach club or via the public section which caused injury due to the slippery and sharp nature of the rocks. The hotel did not suggest or hire the appropriate footwear for the beach to avoid getting hurt on the rocks. The coffee in the cafe was not very good but the cocktails were lovely.

Disappointing

: First thing that comes to my mind is the staff. All the staff members of the hotel were good, but the reception staff in particular was great. No matter what issue or problem there was - they always solved it immediately and were very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The sea view matched what was advertised. The terrace restaurant was very nice and romantic with nice tasty dishes. The private parking for the hotel guests is about 5min walk from the hotel.
: Loud music from the bar next to the hotel was a problem during the night, particularly for the rooms with windows directly facing the bar. We were lucky that the reception staff were understanding and changed the room for us.
