  : We loved Zorbas, its location and Akis’ cordial hospitality! It’s located adjacent to a metro stop, Victoria Square and a myriad of great value cafes, bakeries and mini-markets.The hotel/hostel offers the basics at a great value! Room 17 had a private bathroom, double bed plus a single bed, and a balcony. It was spotless clean although the venue is rundown. No toiletries here yet you will get the customer service of a 5 star hotel. From being attentive about arrival, providing directions from all possible arrival directions, assistance with finding specific places and overall extremely helpful. They even offered to arrange for taxi service for us. We are specially grateful to Akis for all his help. The A/C took a little to crank up but it worked ok. Wifi was excellent. Zorbas has a communal kitchen and space in the basement. The metro in Athens is excellent and as easy to figure out as in NYC. Being within steps of a metro stop is very convenient. The restaurants and cafes around Zorbas charge a fraction of what others close to the more touristic places charge. For example: orange juice €0.80 instead of €6.00; cappuccino €1.20 instead of €4.00; greek salad or Musaka €6.00 instead of €9-€12. That’s why we loved Zorbas and we will be back again… because we want to savor Athens without the hiked up prices. PS Laundry dries quickly on the balcony :)

  : 3rd time at Zorbas and I've always rated this place 10/10. This time I had no other option than to rate it a 1/10. But I must point out that it's managed excellently an all the staff par one are an asset to the business.
  : On my final night I awoke at 5.am to a couple having sex very loudly and in open view of 6 other guys. A great example of how socially and morally bankrupt society has become. Myself and 3 others were forced to leave the room as none of us were impressed. Now the real issue was the member of staff who was sat outside the room listening to the affair who seemed to be getting a kick out of it. When I told him It was unacceptable guests are having to leave the room at 5am due to the live sex show. He laughed in my face. He seemed to find the whole thing hilarious. However I must add. If it was any of the other staff or manager. I'm 100% confident that wouldn't have been the case. As an employer, this guy must be let go for not only allowing such a thing, but also for finding it entertaining. I return to Athens next month for 6 weeks an I did plan to stay here but I would never go back after the disrespect shown to myself and other guests by the staff member in question.

  : Clean room with space, they could put another bed but they didn't so I wasn't just a room filled with beds. The restroom is in the room but still offer some intimity.
