  : Excellent location near to Plaka shops restaurants and a five minute walk to the foot of the Acropolis Friendly staff and a simple continental breakfast
  : Dated interiors , clutter in communal areas , no lift to higher floors , images of room used on booking.com not typical of the room we were given and had no balcony Some rooms including ours 105 faced a derelict building which was used by stray cats and people Although breakfast was adequate it wasnt a buffet breakfast as we were led to believe from the images used on booking.com; you are served a set amount without any available choices

  : An old world / no frills hotel in a great central location . The breakfast was traditional Greek olives, figs, cheese, sliced meats, bread. I loved it. Staff friendly. We were there one night & it was a great price.

  : Bathroom tile moldy in the shower and and behind the towel rod. Bathroom smelled of urine. NO elevator, not good for elderly having to carry suitcases up three flights of very very narrow stairs. Main breakfast consisted of two slices of bolgna and cheese sandwiches per person with juice or coffee, some dry cereal, a hard boiled egg, and one fig. No bacon, sausage, pancakes or scrambled eggs, no pastry. Our first night was Sunday night and it felt like we were sleeping on a freeway as the auto and motorcycle noise was quite loud. Hard to sleep the first night. The mattress was old and uncomforable.

  : Acropolis House is an old fashioned, family-run hotel in an 1880s town house between Syntagma and Plaka. It has a real family feel - there are kids toys among the bric brac - and breakfast is Greek: ham, cheese, olives, an egg, etc, served at table. Keys are left casually on the reception counter. Bedroom furniture is old style: bed with carved wooden headboard, marble-hopped tables, etc. The shower room is Greek style: small and dimly lit. The family are obviously proud of their old house, which retains some of its 1880s wall paintings. My ceiling also had fragments of fresco that resurfaced in the 1999 earthquake. The hotel has something of the feel of the Grand Hotel de Londres in Istanbul, only in this case without the Grand. I liked this place a lot, but it wont suit people who require modern international standards.
  : The bathroom lighting is dim. OK by me, but that might be an issue for anyone wanting to shave or apply makeup, or both.
