  : Room overlooking the lake as requested. Lake view was lovely. Room was a little small but very comfortable, clean and well appointed. Staff were excellent - extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly. We ate in the restaurant and the food was of a very high standard. Very reasonably priced glass of champagne was a treat.

  : The downstairs is lovely, renovated well and modern. Breakfast was simple but good quality.
  : The rooms are very small and the bathroom tiny. Shower is claustrophobic. Air con good in one room, less in other. The upstairs not as nicely done as downstairs. Location isn't quite as nice/bustling as suggested in photos. Lake a bit grubby and facilities run down.The biggest issue for us however was that we couldn't eat in the restaurant, as it was fully booked and the manager would not make an exception despite us having a young family and no other way of getting food. Apparently they send an email with every booking to say you need to book restaurant (which I didn't get). I did get a message on booking.com, but it didn't pop up during booking and wasn't in an obvious place on the app (took manager a while to find it too). Nothing on actual booking page about how necessary it is too book either. That said I understand they couldn't fit us in but thought customer service was poor and manager was quite inflexible. They wouldn't even offer us some bread (which they must have as they offer continental breakfast, which you don't need to pre book). Given we'd driven for 5 hours with a baby and child and there is nothing else around I found quite ridiculous and unhelpful. There is nothing else really in the local area either, so I think they need to make it much clearer on the actual site you can't use restaurant unless you book immediately, especially given that this is likely to be main draw, given rooms are nothing special. Ultimately it meant we had a awful stay

  : Very comfortable, if small, room. We ate dinner there and the food was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. The location is very attractive, if a bit hard to find at first. A very pleasant stay: we'll be keeping this place in mind for further trips.
