  : The view from the room (Tusnelda). Very comfortable bed.
  : WiFi did not work well. The glass of wine was a bit expensive, even compared to better hotels and restaurants. The restaurant seemed a bit understaffed for dinner.

  : Gorgeous property perched on a hilltop inside a dreamy medieval village! The hotel is very clean and impeccably maintained. The staff is friendly and polite.
  : Access is an issue as you can’t drive up to the property due to the roads being extremely narrow. The staff comes to pick you up and drop you off at the parking lot at the foot of the hill, but apparently, this service is only provided during check in and checkout. If you have mobility issues or have an infant, you are looking at a steep 15 - 20 min walk uphill and downhill to access your car on other days. We stayed for three nights and were suddenly informed on day 3 that we would have to walk with our 6 month old baby to our car. We were able to negotiate with the hotel, but the way in which this was communicated to us was not customer-friendly. So please make sure to discuss this with the hotel ahead of booking if you have special needs. Also, the hotel’s restaurant has great food, but the menu is not extensive, so you may have to order the same dishes over and over if you are staying for a long time. It is also a tad expensive and certain things that are ubiquitous in France, such as a free pitcher of water are not provided. You end up paying for water, which is brought to you in a pitcher, instead of a sealed bottle.

  : Location and view. Very friendly stuff.
  : Bedding quality and no hot water in the shower.No access by car to the hotel and parking might be complicated, especially to the closest parking which has an electric car lift which is limited to cars up to 1800 kg. The hotel can come to pick you up with their Fiat Panda.

  : Exceptional rooms with great views, spacious and very comfortable. The rooms, the hotel in general, and the hilltop village it sits in were all absolutely beautiful and atmospheric. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent.
  : My room had a strong sulfurous smell when I returned the first evening, and I was moved to another available room upon request. Breakfast (which I didn't try) and dinner are both quite expensive, in addition to the price of the room itself. The village is only accessible via very narrow streets, meaning normal-size taxis can't drive all the way to the hotel and some coordination with the hotel shuttle service is useful. The walk from the train station was almost 20 minutes, the second half of which was very steep.

  : I loved staying at Chateau Le Cagnard as it was so beautiful and steeped in history. The vista from our room was breathtaking as was the dining room outlook and the interesting hilltop town of Cagnes-sur-mer is a must visit! Our room was also very spacious with a great functional bathroom. We had a delicious dinner in the restaurant and breakfast the next morning was equally as good. The only thing I would say to people who are thinking to book is remember that this hotel is in an ancient building and although it is magnificent ( and has a lift ) there are a few steps to be negotiated.
