  : The hotel is bright and extremely clean, the couleurs are very nice: white and blue. You feel you are in the beach ;-)))! The room was big with all amenities, the room has also another lavabo to wash or rinse beach clothes. The beach is just there, a very short distance of the hotel. Staff was very friendly and Ignacio, the landor shared with me all interesting trips that we can do around Algeciras. I would like to come back again and discover them.
  : I would love to have a beach chair that belongs to the hotel and relaxed just there. Also, I wish I could eat something else that sandwiches at the restaurant of the hotel. But my second sandwich on my birthday day was delicious, eating at the terrace, drink my coffee with the view of Gibraltar. I did not feel to eat to the closes restaurants on the beach, close to the hotel. When I spoke with Ignacio, the landor of the hotel. I understood why those services are not offer to guests.

  : I have never left a negative review for a hotel but I was so disappointed with El Bahia, it was not clear from the booking.com information that this in fact is a PENSION - it should be indicated in the title of the establishment in the booking.com site - El Bahia Pension should be the title. There are certain regulations in Andalucia regarding different accommodation and what they must provide, also they should state clearly their accommodation costs in high and low season. If I had know that this was a pension I would never have paid 190 euros for a night for myself and my elderly mum. Pensions do not have to provide lifts and are the lowest form of accommodation after Hotels and Hostals. My mother who has a heart condition had to climb 2 flights of stairs, when I raised this with the owner he started arguing back with me 'Basil Fawlty style'. Very unpleasant. It's a shame because the staff are lovely and the location is actually really nice, we had a lovely view and the place was generally clean however the cost was ridiculous for the level of accommodation with no lift. I don't mind roughing it but not with my 88 year old mum and certainly not paying 190 euros a night. I wouldn't recommend El Bahia at all, there are so many cheaper, good quality hotels in the area. We spent the next 2 nights in a 4 star hotel with a pool at nearly half the price of El Bahia which helped us to get over this awful experience.
