Hotel Richter

Very Good

: The staff was fantastic! They were very helpful and super friendly.
: The walls were a bit thin and it was easy to hear people. That also made my wife and I a bit nervous about making any noise in the evenings too.

Pleasant

  : It was very clean.
: The fact that the main entrance was closed at 8pm and I had to figure out how to leave and come back into the hotel again!

Disappointing
Traveller Type: Traveling as Couple
: There were ants in the room and we had to chase down hotel staff for more than an hour to come and look and find a solution for us. He then pretended like that was normal. There were more than 30 ants in the room all over the floor and some on the bed sheets which is unacceptable. He finally found us another room and it was fine to stay the one night. Also its not very clear that the hotel has shared bathrooms, it would have been ok to know this during the booking but its not very clear.

Very Good

: Quaint little hotel that's somewhat out-of-the-way of all the hustle and bustle of Hamburg. Easy to get to and there's some free parking available. The rooms are servicable and the beds are comfortable. Most importantly, they were clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. At ~27 outside, the room was cool enough thanks to big, dark curtains (no aircon available).
: Many rooms have shared bathrooms (make sure to check when booking), you'll have to pay a premium for a larger room with it's own bathroom and even then, it'll be pretty small. Breakfast was okay, pretty standard for mid tier German hotels - buns (oven ones, not fresh from the baker's) with a selection of spreads and cold cuts, teas and coffees and some veggies.I would say the experience is slightly overpriced, but so are many hotels especially in Hamburg.

: The rooms were cosy and clean, we were on a family trip so we didn't have high expectations for the price we paid.
  : I generally don't like shared bathrooms .
