  : The Schafhof is beautifully located. The rooms are nicely refurbished and the furniture is of high quality.
  : The dinner, while good, was not outstanding. For the same price level you can get a higher standard elsewhere. The rooms are also on the expensive side. The price you pay is more for the beautiful location and building than for the excellence in food.

  : Overall, the property feels and looks like it has seen better days and is way past its prime. The facilities seemed outdated; the carpets were bleached, and the bathroom amenities were definitely not what you'd expect from a 4-star hotel. Issues included a shower in the bathtub with a shower curtain, a slight smell, a towel hanger that was loose and about to fall off the wall, doors that got slightly stuck when closing, and some other minor details. The former one-star restaurant currently holds two Gault Millau hats, but we were left wondering how this was possible given the uninteresting and uninspired menu we experienced.I realize I'm complaining about first-world problems, but given the price and 4-star rating, these issues add up to a significant disappointment.
