: LOCATIONThis apartment is in a well-constructed/maintained small building about 10-15 meters from bottom of Le Rouge poma lift. You can reach every ski trail in 4Vallees by starting from this ski lift. You can ski right back to the building at any time. Despite the nearby apres ski bar, perhaps the liveliest in Verbier, this is a quiet area of Verbier, at edge of ski bowl.WALKSYou can walk to Medron lift and to town in 10 minutes. Ski tickets can be bought at Le Rouge poma or Medron. Many beautiful walks here amid the luxurious, ornate wooden chalets, some with pools. A bus stop and superette is about 200 meters walk from the building. You can take a bus from Migros/Coop/Pam supermarkets or Medron lift to this bus stop.APARTMENTLoved the wood-burning fireplace and kitchen was well equipped. Nice oven. Warm and lots of hot water. Comfy dinner table nook. WIFI is super-fast. Bedroom and living room get lots of sun all day.RESTAURANTS NEARBYAbout 100 meters walk down the ski slope is Le Rouge apres ski rooftop bar, with people dancing on tables 7-10pm. They also serve lunch/dinner/drinks on lower floor and outdoors. Also, once you are pulled on skis or snowboard to the top of the Le Rouge poma lift, there is a busy restaurant for sunny lunches. From there you can ski to Medron lift, or other lifts, if you want to go midmountain and much higher.MARKETSAt least 3 supermarkets in Verbier: Migros, Coop and Pam. Each has differing products. I recommend you sample all. Bakery, luxe foods on main street, along w 20-30 bars/bistros, jewelry, art and ski shops.TRAINIf you want to take train to/from Geneva, Sion, or France/Italy/Germany, there is a ski gondola that runs around 6am-midnight (check schedule) from Medron down to the train station in valley. This gondola also allows you to ski other regions of Verbier, on other side of valley. About 10 min gondola ride and 2-3 min walk to train. Pack light as gondola is small.
: We loved it, but this place is for strong and hardy skiers who like to walk a lot. No parking at the building, so the best price is at the 5 CHF/day (first 24 hours is free) outdoor lot at the sports center/ice rink, below the main Verbier strip, not too far from Migros supermarket, about 20-30 min walk to/from apartment. It is a nice walk amid shops and hotels and chalets. I recommend 5-6 boxes (120 lbs) of firewood for the week, and most food, drinks, ski rentals, heavy items, done with a car BEFORE parking as you already have to haul it 100 meters up the ski slope. Moving sidewalk runs about 830am-430pm. Last, we saw 4-6 year olds struggling to get onto the Poma bar, and falling off, so be prepared to take them up with you.
