  : The owner Penka was lovely and helpful, the room was satisfactory for the price and the location is good. A vending machine and coffee machine is on reception and there was a fridge in our room which was found helpful.

  : The location is awesome 700 m (770 yd) from the river promenade, and about the same distance to Plac Svoboda (Freedom Square) with its many pubs and restaurants. The rooms themselves are clearly from the Communist era, giving an odd nostalgic vibe to those who remember from their childhood what Eastern Bloc hotels used to look like.
  : I'm well aware that this is a 1-star establishment, and I was well prepared for humble accommodation without unnecessary fancy-schmancy. Nor did I mind sharing a bathroom for only 3 nights. What I wasn't prepared for, though, was mold on the underside of my toilet seat and on the rim of the bathroom sink, spider webs in one of the corners, dust and grime on the bathroom fan/ventilator, and weird stains/pieces of dirt on the bathroom wall. In fairness, my bed and pillows were very comfy. Check-in, however, is a joke. Reception is largely unmanned both day and night, so new arrivals are asked to call a number posted on the reception desk. As I make very few phone calls, I didn't even bother to top up minutes. I managed to hook up to the WiFi and figured I'd use WhatsApp instead. Good luck. Said number isn't a WhatsApp user. It was only through sheer dumb luck that the cleaning lady/receptionist happened to walk by. Also, the front door remains unlocked 24/7, meaning that any random person has access to the entire premises. In conclusion, if you're a happy-go-lucky backpacker who literally just needs a place to crash, this is for you. Families on vacation or couples on a romantic retreat might want to look elsewhere.
