  : The hotel has a wine store next to its restaurant. But many of the wines offered at the restaurant were not for sale in the wine store. This doesn't make sense -- someone that like a wine with dinner is very much likely to buy the bottle at the wine store

  : I'm honestly surprised by the high rating of the place. The rooms were nice, nothing special but they were clean and the hosts left complimentary coffee and water. However, the bathrooms in both rooms smelled appalling. There is definitely an issue with the canalisation and the smell is horrific, as if someone died inside, and it was so pungent- the smell made it difficult to use the bathrooms. The hotel also has a restaurant, it's one of the biggest in Melnik and that's where the breakfast was served. The food was average at best, but the real issue was with the cleanliness of the place. The menus were disgusting and covered in black dots you associate with cockroach infestation. We were given dirty water glasses, cutlery and a coffee cup with a lipstick smear on it. At night there is live music which makes sleeping in the rooms impossible. Our stay happened to be on the town's yearly holiday, so we expected some loud celebration, but we found out the music is a regular part of the restaurant so be warned. It was so loud we couldn't fall asleep until 2 am and the singers were in the wrong line of work, which made the experience even worse.The final drop was the checkout - the cleaner stayed in front of our rooms for an hour, waiting for us to check out even though it was still early in the morning. As we had two rooms we were moving from one to the other and in the meantime the cleaner kept staying at the doorway staring at us. I guess it worked cause we couldn't leave fast enough.We only went for this place as the reviews were so nice but honestly we were shocked. Maybe the owners changed, but we definitely advise staying away.
