  : The room we ended up in was nice
  : came to the hotel and been told our room is in another hotel !!! room we got had a strong odour of cigarettes, staff were not keen on helping with room issues- ended up in a different room which ended up being a twin toom( 2 single beds) which we did not book. the room ended up having an entrance to another room with a double bed in which we ended up staying in- we did not feel comfortable or safe as had a constant feel that someone else will enter from the other side. cigarettes sold in rooms! ( pack of cigarettes with a sticker 8 meaning they were for sale- but then signs everywhere that you cant smoke even though the smell of cigarettes was all over the room.

  : The fact that they booked us into a absolutely poor "4 star" hotel across the road because they over booked and nobody let us know before we arrived at the property.

  : I book hotel rooms with booking.com for more than 10 years and I review dozens of properties every year (Genius - level 3) and I don't remember to ever give less than a 8 score... until this day!We arrived in a very hot afternoon and after an 8-hour exhaustive bus trip from Montenegro. We didn't had the chance the withdraw money and we were looking to accommodate first, leave the bags in the room, find an ATM, and to pay right after. Any decent hotel allows this, they even encourage this as a signal of trust between parts. The reception guys were not helpful in anything. They asked us to pay in advance and they used an exorbitant convertion rate that made us to lose 16 euros just with that trick. We could only pay in Euros (the amount listed in booking.com reservation) if was by cash, not by card, so they suggested us to withdraw leks, to exchange it to euros anywhere and to pay the room in euros, which seemed totally non-sense to us. They did nothing to help the guest, only to complicate its life! To the AS Tirana hotel management: If your staff is just following your guidelines, you are in the wrong path! Be more flexible with these simple requests from your guests such the one described above and you will not receive negative feedback.
